The Ottawa REDBLACKS would like to wish receiver Diontae Spencer a happy 26th birthday.
Fresh off signing a new contract for the 2018 CFL season, Spencer is coming off what can only be described as a breakout season.
In his first year with Ottawa after two years with the Toronto Argonauts, Spencer caught 71 passes for 922 yards and six touchdowns. But he didn’t stop there. Emerging has one of the league’s most dynamic kick returners, Spencer added 929 yards and a touchdown on the punt return, 607 yards on kickoff returns and 260 yards and a touchdown on missed field goal returns.
To cap off an impressive campaign, Spencer set a new CFL record for all-purpose yards in a game with 496 in the regular season finale against Hamilton.
