OTTAWA – Nate Menkin, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound import offensive lineman, will be joining the Ottawa REDBLACKS for the team’s 2014 inaugural season.
The 25-year-old native of Lago Vista, Texas arrives in the Canadian Football League after spending the last two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans of the NFL.
Menkin played four seasons of collegiate football for the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders in Belton, Texas. After playing three games during his rookie campaign in 2008, Menkin started in all but two of 38 contests during his final three years with the Crusaders.
Menkin was named the 2011 American Southwest Conference Division III Offensive Lineman of the Year.
