OTTAWA – The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League have signed import cornerback Brandyn Thompson.
The 24-year-old Thompson (5-10, 188) , a native of Elk Grove, California, was drafted in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft by Washington and played six games and recorded two tackles for the Redskins in his rookie year.
Thompson attended Washington’s camp in 2012 but was released prior to the beginning of the NFL season.
He played four seasons for the Boise State Broncos, recording 146 total tackles and 13 interceptions. In the 2010 Fiesta Bowl, Thompson returned a first-quarter interception for a 51-yard touchdown that sparked the Broncos to a 17-10 win over the Texas Christian Horned Frogs
