Inaugural REDBLACKS training camp at Carleton University

OTTAWA – Fans of the Ottawa REDBLACKS living in Ottawa won’t have far to travel to see their new football heroes during the team’s inaugural training camp.

The Canadian Football League team announced today it will hold the 2014 training camp at Carleton University.

All on-field practices will take place on campus at Keith Harris Stadium. Fans may attend all open practices.

“With the team entering the Ottawa sports scene, we thought it was essential to hold camp as close to home as possible so our supporters can get a close-up view of their favourite players,” said Jeff Hunt, President of Sports with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG), operators of the REDBLACKS, Ottawa Fury FC (North American Soccer League) and Ottawa 67’s (Ontario Hockey League).

Pay parking will be available in Lot 5 of Carleton University campus to fans attending the camp. Payments can be made at the automated kiosks.

League rookies will report to camp on May 28, while veterans are expected to check in on May 31. The first official day of camp will be June 1, with the first practice scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

Fans can stay following the first practice for a special player introduction ceremony.
