HAMILTON – The Ottawa REDBLACKS trail the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 20-17 at halftime at McMaster’s Ron Joyce stadium in Hamilton.

Last week’s CFL Special Teams Player of the Week, Brett Maher, took the lead for the REDBLACKS mid-way through the second quarter with a 10-yard field goal.

Earlier in the second quarter, quarterback Henry Burris found veteran Marcus Henry in the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown pass, tying the game at 14 piece.

REDBLACKS wide receiver Matt Carter caught a 10-yard pass from Burris half way through the first quart for his first touchdown of the season.

Burris makes his first return to Hamilton since he though the pigskin for the Ticats last season.

Ottawa native Justin Phillips was injured on a punt return late in the first quarter. He was carted off the field and would not return.

The REDBLACKS currently sit a top the east division with a record of 1-2 while Hamilton is at the bottom with a 0-3 record.
