OTTAWA – Jamill Smith scored his first ever CFL touchdown in the Ottawa REDBLACKS 38-14 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders Saturday night.

Quarterback Thomas DeMarco found the wide receiver deep in the endzone for the REDBLACKS second touchdown. Smith had his first touchdown dance with his teammates to celebrate the pivotal moment in his career.

The crowd erupted with excitement as red fireworks sored into the air lighting up the sky above the north stands.

Earlier in the game, Dobson Collins made REDBLACKS history scoring the first touchdown in franchise history at TD Place.

Thomas DeMarco punted the ball down field from the Ottawa 53-yard line. Collins took off down the sideline to retrieve the bouncing 73 yard punt just over five minutes into the second quarter.

The sounds of chainsaws quickly filled the stadium as The Algonquin College logger sports team got to work cutting the first ever ceremonial wood cookie in the endzone.

Jamill Smith was one of four new additions to the REDBLACKS line up Saturday evening. The others included: Reggie Jones DB and Marlon Smith DL.

The REDBLACKS fall to third in the East, trailing the Toronto Argonauts and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
