OTTAWA – Chevon Walker puts Ottawa on the board late in the second quarter at McMahon Stadium.
Henry Burris handed the ball off to Walker for an easy 1 yard run into the endszone late in the second quarter. This marks the running back’s fourth touchdown for Ottawa this season.
The play was made largely thanks to Jasper Simmons who jumped in front of Bo Levi Mitchell’s pass intended for Marquay McDaniel for a 29 yard interception. It is Simmons’ second major interception of the season after the game winning interception at TD Place against Toronto.
To top off the quarter Walker, Ottawa’s leading rusher, eclipsed the 300-yard mark on the season in the first half
Jermaine Robinson came out strong against the Stampeders offence in the first half. Several times the defensive back displayed his speed flying across the field to make big hits when it mattered.
The REDBLACKS currently trail the Stampeders 28-7 at the half.
