OTTAWA – Jermaine Robinson made a BIG impression on #RNation in Saturday’s hard fought battle against the Calgary Stampeders. His performance earned him the REDBLACKS Mobile App Player of the game for week 7.
The corner back came out with a BANG in his CFL debut with three outstanding tackles. As he shot across the field like a rocket, Robinson made quite the impact on the unsuspecting Stampeders.
“I just went out there knowing my assignments and giving all the effort I had,” said Robinson. “That was the most important thing but any little things I can do to help the team that’s more important than any one play.”
The 24-year-old, once again in the right place at the right time, nearly had his first interception. He leapt into the air toward a pass from Bo Levi Mitchell, only to have it bounce off his fingertips and out of bounds.
“At those points in the game, those takeaways could really turn the game around.” said Robinson. “I have to own in and really focus in on making that play. I could have intercepted and ran it back for a touchdown or it’s another turnover on the board. I really need to focus in on that aspect and make sure I make that play.”
When asked what message he had for the fans he was quick to answer “Be as loud as you can!”
