OTTAWA – Henry Burris made history once again at TD Place moving to third in the CFL’s all-time passing yards. The veteran quarterback threw 110 yards in Sunday afternoon’s game against the Calgary Stampeders putting him at 53,160 total career passing yards.

REDBLACKS defence were out to flex their muscles once again. They started early in the first quarter when CFL veteran Jonathan Williams snatched Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell’s pass out of the air at the Calgary 34-yard line. He quickly ran it into the end zone for his first career CFL touchdown.

Shortly after Williams’ TD, defensive lineman Justin Capiccotti served Mitchell his first sack of the game feeding the energy in TD Place.

Late in the first, Jerrell Gavins made a crucial play to knock down Mitchell’s pass intended for Sederrik Cunningham deep in the Ottawa end.

The REDBLACKS defence battled hard to keep the Stampeders offence out of the endzone early in the second. Antoine Pruneau made a dynamite play getting in the way of the pass intended for Calagary’s Marquay McDaniel.

Henry Burris found Khalil Paden twice for a total of 17 yards in his CFL debut. The 24-year-old was signed by the team in early August.

In the dying minutes of the game, after backup quarterback Thomas Demarco suffered an injury, quarterback Danny O’Brien also made his CFL regular season debut.

#RNation was out in full force once again at TD Place. The sold-out crowd seemed to be more enthusiastic than ever on the beautiful sunny afternoon.

Despite the REDBLACKS best efforts the final score was 32-7 Stampeders.

The REDBLACKS remain third the east with a 1-7 record and the Stampeders remain first in the west with a record of 7-1.
