MONTREAL – The Ottawa REDBLACKS are black in black at Molson Memorial Stadium. Sporting their all black uniforms the REDBLACKS are fighting hard in the Montreal trenches.

Henry Burris found his receivers early in the game while making his way to the Montreal end. First Marcus Henry for 14-yards, followed by Dobson Collins for five and then Matt Carter showed off his hands at the Montreal 29 with a 16-yard catch.

This offensive drive led to Brett Maher kicking things off once again for the REDBLACKS, putting them on the board with a 28-yarder.

The Ottawa Defence were showing they are a force to be reconed with in the first half.

Midway through the second quarter Travis Brown turned it on for the REDBLACKS, intercepting Jonathan Crompton’s pass deep in the Ottawa end to stop the Alouettes momentum. It marks the linebackers first career CFL touchdown.

In the final minutes of the second quarter on an Alouettes scoring play, Brandon Whitaker fumbled the ball on the Ottawa goal line. Jerrell Gavins was quick to retrieve the ball for Ottawa switching the momentum in the REDBLACKS favour once again.

After 30 minutes the REDBLACKS trail the Alouettes 8-3.

The two last met during the preseason when the REDBLACKS defeated the Alouettes 26-10. The REDBLACKS currently sit third in the east with a 6-1 record while the Alouettes continue to hold the bottom spot.
