On behalf of the Ottawa REDBLACKS staff and players, the OSEG ownership and management teams and the staff at TD Place, thank you for putting Ottawa back on the map as a great CFL city. You made it all possible by embracing the vision for a new Lansdowne and supporting the REDBLACKS and our wonderful Stadium at TD Place.
“I think back to opening night and the anticipation as the clock was ticking down to victory!” said Jeff Hunt, President of OSEG Sports. “It was one of the greatest moments of my life when all of us raised our arms in the air and jumped for joy. We were celebrating far more than a “W” on the field. It was a “W” for our whole city made possible by you fans. Thank you so much.”
“The commitment and support from our fans has been outstanding,” said REDBLACKS GM Marcel Desjardins. “They’ve made playing at TD Place a wonderful experience and their passion is felt not only by our players and staff, but also by visiting players who comment on how great it would be to play in Ottawa. We are thankful for the support of our fans and they will be rewarded for their patience as soon as 2015.”
“The fans and the people of Ottawa/Gatineau have made this a great place to play football,” said Head Coach Rick Campbell. “You all make us proud to live and work here. We feel we have many pieces of a successful football team in place and we’ll work diligently to find those additional pieces that will put us over the top. Our preparation for next season starts now.”
So the first season is over. What memories will you carry forward ‘till we meet again next season? Perhaps your first glimpse of the stadium and the pride you felt in our city did it. Maybe you’ll remember the smiles and thrills you shared with friends and family or some of the great plays we saw on the field. This was a special year for all of us. Thank you for being part of it and we look forward to seeing you next season.
