Members of the Ottawa REDBLACKS, Ottawa 67’s and Ottawa Fury FC made the students day at St. Peter Catholic High school on Wednesday when they visited the school cafeteria to sign autographs, take pictures and promote the new “Eat & Win” program.

The Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) has partnered with Chartwells, the acclaimed food service provider for six K-12 school boards in the Ottawa area, to create “Eat & Win” which allows students the opportunity to win a signed football and two tickets to the REDBLACKS, 67’s and Fury FC games. All they have to do is buy one of three specialty item combos – Burris Burger, 67’s Breakfast of Champions, Fury Chicken Sandwich – or use #REDBLACKSLunch, #67sLunch or #FuryLunch and their name is entered into the draw. But the rewards don’t stop there! The school with the most ballots will get the chance to send their school’s sports teams to a Fury FC practice at TD Place.

Ottawa REDBLACKS QB Henry Burris, J’Micheal Deane (OL), Jon Gott (OL), Chevon Walker (RB), and newly signed Wide Receiver Maurice Price were all in attendance, as was the Fury Junior Academy Head Coach Darko Buser and the 67’s General Manager Pat Higgins. The players talked to the students about the importance of eating healthy and staying active before they signed autographs and took pictures.  Even some selfies! Coach Darko and members of the REDBLACKS Cheer and Dance Team handed out samples of the Burris Burger, the 67’s Breakfast for Champions and the Fury Chicken Sandwich so the students could get a taste of the three combos offered for this promotion.

With help from the team mascots, Big Joe, Riley the Raccoon, Killer Puck and Sparky, the event was a resounding success!
