OTTAWA – The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League made the following selections in the 2015 CFL Draft on Tuesday evening.
Round One (first overall) – Offensive lineman Alex Mateas (6-foot-4, 309 lbs,, Connecticut)
Round Two (ninth overall) – Wide receiver Jake Harty (6-foot-2, 210 lbs., Calgary)
Round Four (28th overall) – Linebacker Tanner Doll (6-foot, 221 lbs., Calgary)
Round Five (37th overall) – Fullback Jefferson Court (6-foot-3, 238 lbs., Utah State)
Round Six (46th overall) – Running back Kienan Lawrence (5-foot-10, 210 lbs., Manitoba)
Round Seven (54th overall) – Offensive lineman Alexandre Laganière (6-foot-4, 305, Montréal)
The REDBLACKS begin training camp at Carleton University (Keith Harris Stadium) on Wednesday, May 27 when rookies report. The team’s first full training camp practice will take place on Sunday, May 31 at Keith Harris.
The REDBLACKS play two pre-season games this season; the first in Hamilton against the Tiger-Cats on June 8, followed by a match in Quebec City on June 13 against the Montreal Alouettes.
The team begins the regular season in Montreal on Thursday, June 25 before the home opener on Saturday, July 4 against the BC Lions.
