The sensational Serena Ryder and special guests The Strumbellas will rock the arena at TD Place on Friday July 3rd in concert presented by TD Bank Group. The free concert is a gift to Ottawa/Gatineau music lovers to celebrate summer and kick-off a home-opener weekend at TD Place for the Ottawa REDBLACKS (CFL) and Ottawa Fury FC (NASL).
“We know our customers love Serena Ryder and so do we. We’re excited to celebrate with OSEG to bring Serena to Ottawa on July 3rd along with The Strumbellas,” said Chris Stamper, Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing, TD. “We believe in the power of music to bring people together across Canada. It’s going to be a great night at TD Place, one of many that Ottawa and Gatineau music and sports fans will enjoy at Lansdowne in the months and years to come.”
Serena Ryder sky-rocketed to the highest echelons of Canadian musical fame with her November 2012, multi-platinum selling release, Harmony. The trailblazing, infectious lead single, “Stompa” and the equally anthemic follow-up track, “What I Wouldn’t Do” raced to the top of the radio airwaves top-10 lists across all formats.
A testament to the depth of Harmony was the album’s third single, “Fall” … another radio mainstay. Ryder is adored by fans, peers and critics alike due to her immense natural song writing talent and beautifully electric live performances. Over the years, she has garnered many other accolades including three prestigious JUNO Awards: 2008 New Artist of The Year, 2009 Adult Alternative Album of The Year (Is It O.K.) and 2010 Video of The Year (Little Bit of Red).
“We are thrilled to be able to be able to offer this incredible night of entertainment to our city,” said Bernie Ashe, CEO of the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group. “This free concert gives us an opportunity to follow-up Canada Day with another spectacular event in the heart of the city and celebrate the fact that the construction fences are down and the new Lansdowne is up and open for everybody to enjoy. We’re also excited that TD is helping to bring the comfort of music to our community.”
Free tickets to see Serena Ryder and The Strumbellas at TD Place on July 3rd at 7:00 PM are available by visiting CapitalTickets.ca. Seating capacity in the arena at TD Place is limited so fans are advised to log-on and get their free tickets as soon as possible. A limit of two tickets per person is in effect.
