Throwback Thursday: Bryan Chiu – 2009 Grey Cup

Just over six years ago, REDBLACKS offensive line coach Bryan Chiu was a Grey Cup champion with the Montreal Alouettes.

After losing in the championship game three out of four of the past seasons (2005, 2006, 2008), Montreal finally won. And they did so in dramatic fashion.

“Heartbreaking, happy, sad, suspenseful – it was everything wrapped into one,” said Chiu. “I guess that’s what the CFL’s about – a game like that.”

The Als defeated the Calgary Stampeders 28-27 on a last second field goal by David Duvall.

Chiu decided to go out on top, as the 12-year CFL veteran retired before the start of the 2010 season.
