TD Place will host one of Ottawa/Gatineau’s premier university sporting events, the Panda Game, an annual CIS football extravaganza featuring the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees and the Carleton Ravens.
This year’s Panda Game will be held on Saturday, October 3 starting at 1:07 p.m. Tickets start at only $20 and are available now at capitaltickets.ca or call 613-599-FANS (3267).
The event is rain or shine and parking is available via Capital Tickets.
“It’s a privilege to once again host Panda and provide Ottawa’s university students, alumni and fans of major events with an opportunity to experience TD Place,” said Mike Cerha, VP Entertainment and Venues at TD Place.
“Last year’s game, in front of 12,500 fans, came right down to the wire with Carleton winning on a last second “Hail Mary” TD catch and it was a great way to re-introduce the game to its traditional home here at Lansdowne. Mark the September 4 on-sale date on your calendar. It’s going to be a big crowd.”
“It was great to be out on that field last year and feel the energy from over 12,000 fans yelling and cheering on every play,” said Derek Wendel, quarterback of the Gee-Gees football team, this year’s home team. “It was back and forth all afternoon and this year’s game is going to be just as incredible.”
“The Panda Game is one of the highlights of football not only in the city but across the CIS,” said Carleton Ravens Football head coach Steve Sumarah. “In its first year at TD Place it drew over 12,000 fans and my expectation is it will only continue to grow. The rivalry and tradition are second to none in the CIS and it is great having OSEG partner with the two schools to make this a first class event.”
