The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the CFL today confirmed the location for their October 6 game against the Argonauts has been moved from Toronto to Ottawa. The change was necessitated by a potential scheduling conflict at the Argonauts home field, Rogers Centre. Tickets for the re-located game will be available early next week.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer #RNation another home game, particularly at such a critical point in the season,” said Jeff Hunt, president of the REDBLACKS parent company, OSEG Sports. “It will also be an opportunity for those who have yet to experience a game at TD Place to see why it’s become the biggest party in town.”
REDBLACKS season ticket holders and others interested in attending the game will be notified as soon as tickets are available. “It takes a few days to program our ticketing system for a major event such as this,” said John Mathers, OSEG’s VP of Marketing and Ticket Sales. “As soon as that’s done we’ll be ready to go.”
The 6-4 REDBLACKS and the 6-5 Argonauts are in a heated battle for playoff positions in the Eastern Conference. The REDBLACKS play in Saskatchewan this weekend before returning home to play the Argo’s in a sold-out TD Place on September 26. The team hosts another East Division rival, the Montreal Alouettes, October 1 before hosting the Argos in the re-located game on Tuesday, October 6. Kickoff will remain 7:30 p.m.
