For the fourth time this season, REDBLACKS quarterback Henry Burris has been named one of the league’s top weekly performers in the Canadian Football League.
Burris helped the REDBLACKS clinch his team a playoff position, the first for an Ottawa CFL team in over 20 years, during a 27-24 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at TD Place last Friday, October 16.
Burris, a leading candidate for the league’s Most Outstanding Player, threw for 370 yards, completing 34 of 43 passes and one touchdown.
The Temple grad has completed 407 passes the season, setting a career personal best … and with three games remaining in the regular season.
In addition, Burris sits just 11 yards shy of reaching 60,000 CFL passing yards, a feat accomplished by only two other men: Anthony Calvillo and Damon Allen.
The REDBLACKS have three regular-season games remaining in 2015 before entering the playoffs. The next game is on Saturday, October 24 in Winnipeg for a rematch against the Blue Bombers, followed by a crucial home-and-home series against the Hamilton Tiger Cats.
Ottawa visits Steeltown on Sunday, November 1 before completing the regular season at TD Place on Saturday, November 7 against the Ticats, a match in which the result could very likely determine whether or not the REDBLACKS host a 2015 playoff game.
