As if coming to Lansdowne and watching the 2-0 Ottawa REDBLACKS kick off their home schedule on Friday night wasn’t enough excitement, there will be no shortage of entertainment, great food and cool swag up for grabs when the Calgary Stampeders roll into town for Week 3 action.
Here’s what on tap for Friday in and around TD Place:
Get up and moving before the game starts…head over to the southwest corner of the main concourse (near the Frank Clair statue) and catch a live performance by JW-Jones. Not to be missed!
New this season is the Subaru Log Cabin. Located directly behind the west end zone, the new fan experience area is a two-level patio structure that will accommodate approximately 200 fans. Themed to fit within the REDBLACKS popular lumberjack story, the first level is an accessible food and beverage area stretching the width of the field. The second level will feature one of the many popular models of Subaru vehicles.
Hungry after all that dancing and game anticipation? Head over to the Gate 1 BBQ, The Subaru Log Cabin and The Bud Zone BBQ to grab this week’s featured REDBLACKS burger. Available Friday will be The Macho Nacho Burger. It’s served on our signature REDBLACKS bun and topped with guacamole, fresh salsa, cheese, jalapeños and tortillas chips.
To celebrate the REDBLACKS homecoming, there will be plenty of free stuff handed out Friday night. The first 10,000 fans will get flags pre-game, bang sticks will be available for everyone and don’t forget to pick up a free magnet on the way out at the end of the night.
If grabbing a great burger wasn’t quite enough, there are plenty of dining options around Lansdowne. Staples like Local, Joeys and Milestones continue to thrive, while options like Jack Astor’s, Industria Italian Brasserie and SEN are sure to be hopping pre and post-game. New this season is the addition of CRAFT Beer Market, which has quickly become a popular destination for thirsty (and hungry) visitors.
