Today, the Ottawa REDBLACKS announced they have relieved General Manager Marcel Desjardins of his duties.
”Marcel was the first employee hired by the REDBLACKS back in 2013” said Mark Goudie, President & CEO, Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG). “He has put everything that he has into our organization. His many accomplishments include bringing Ottawa its first Grey Cup win in 40 years. I respect Marcel very much and thank him for his unwavering commitment to the REDBLACKS, RNation and our community.”
Desjardins, the first and only GM in REDBLACKS history, was the architect behind three Grey Cup appearances – including a championship victory in 2016 – the first for the REDBLACKS since the club entered the league in the 2014 season.
Assistant General Manager Jeremy Snyder, who has been with the organization since 2013, will assume the Interim General Manager role for the remainder of this season. In addition, Jean-Marc Edmé, who has been with the organization since 2016, will assume the Interim Assistant General Manager role. The REDBLACKS will initiate a search for a permanent General Manager.

Desjardins, le premier et le seul directeur général de l’histoire du ROUGE et NOIR, a été l’architecte derrière trois participations à la Coupe Grey – dont une victoire au championnat en 2016 – la première pour le ROUGE et NOIR depuis l’arrivée du club dans la ligue lors de la saison 2014.
Le directeur général adjoint Jeremy Snyder, qui fait partie de l’organisation depuis 2013, assumera le rôle de directeur général intérimaire jusqu’à la fin de la présente saison. De plus, Jean-Marc Edmé, qui est avec l’organisation depuis 2016, assumera le rôle de directeur général adjoint par intérim. Le ROUGE et NOIR entameront la recherche d’un directeur général permanent.
