Make it a game day: 5 Must-Try Experiences at Friday’s REDBLACKS Game

After their first bye week of the season, the Ottawa REDBLACKS return to action this Friday, June 30. Under the lights at TD Place, the Edmonton Elks are in town for a 7:30pm kickoff.

Aside from what’s going to be an action-packed evening of football, there is going to be something for everyone at Lansdowne, so here are five reasons why you should come out and see the REDBLACKS on Friday!

  1. $5 beers before kickoff – The party gets started well before toe hits leather. Gates open at 6pm so make sure to get to TD Place early, and enjoy 350ml cans of Budweiser and Bud Light, for just five dollars, prior to the opening kickoff! (Gate 1, 6pm, Gates 2-4, 6:30pm)
  2. Meet local Team Canada athletesAll the more reason to get down to the stadium early, RNation will be able to take part in a meet and greet with Canadian athletes who have represented us on the world stage! Make sure to stop by Gate 1, for an autograph session before the game gets started!

  3. Live music from “The Start” – While fans join in on the fun with their $5 beers and athlete meet and greet’s, they’ll be hearing live music from “The Start”! A hometown five-piece professional cover band, RNation can rock out to the best of British Pop and Rock music, with an encore performance at halftime, as well!
  4. WOW item of the Game – Located at Pure Food Eatery, Southwest Main, our WOW Item of the Game for this week’s matchup — in the spirit of Canada Day — is 1lb All-Canadian Burger! With a homemade patty, cheddar cheese, peameal bacon, caesar ketchup, and garlic aioli, this beautiful burger is the perfect choice to complement a night of fun and football.
  5. Canada Day RED OUT – With our national holiday on the horizon, the REDBLACKS will be celebrating Canada Day! TD Place will feature Canada Day fireworks, and the REDBLACKS will be wearing their red jerseys! Make sure to wear red as well, RNation, so we can RED OUT the stadium, and send the Elks home with a loss.
